Earlier, back in few months in the rumors of next iPad that Apple is to launch an iPad mini with 7.85 inches display along with its next-gen iPad. Now, the rumors are back with a little difference as recently some resource has reported that Apple is planning to launch the 7.85″ iPad. However, this time the news says that iPad mini will arrive later in the third quarter of this year and not with the iPad 3.
The recent rumors came from DigiTimes via its post. Here is what it said:
“Makers in Apple’s iPad supply chain have started delivering samples of 7.85-inch iPads for verification, with volume production likely to begin in the third quarter of 2012 at the earliest, according to industry sources.
The planned launch of the 7.85-inch iPad is apparently to take on Amazon’s US$199 7-inch Kindle Fire as well as a comparable model from Barnes & Noble, although Apple already took up nearly a 60% share of the tablet PC market in 2011, indicated sources.
The price of the 7.85-inch iPad is likely to be set at US$249-299.”
We have gone through several news about the upcoming iPad 3, and as the new rumors adds more weight to the existing rumors. Thus, if the reports are true, soon we will be able to see a smaller iPad in the market in the third quarter of this year at the price of $249-299 expectedly.
