iPhone lockscreen by default is dull, boring and to access basic information you have slide open the the locked screen. However, now you can give iPhone lockscreen your personal touch and add various functionality including clock, font, graphics and more.
To start customizing the iPhone Lockscreen you must have your iPhone jailbroken.
Once jailbroken you can go ahead and download iPhone Explorer on your computer. The link to download iPhone Explorer is given at the end of this article.
Now, open Cydia and install the following apps.
- Lockscreen Clock Hide
- Winterboard
- CleanStatus
Step 1
[iOS 4.1 and below]
[iOS 4.2.1]
Step 2
Unzip the above downloaded files and and locate LockBackground.html. Open the file on text editor like Notepad or TextEdit, find “var locale: Los Angeles, California,” and input your own location. This will give you the weather for your area. Save and close.
Step 3
Open up iPhoneExplorer program you downloaded from the link given at the end of the article, and navigate to Root/Library/Themes.
Step 4
Copy the entire unzipped theme folder you downloaded from above link into your iPhone “Themes” folder as shown in the image below.
Step 5
Now on your iPhone go to Settings and then tap over Clock Hide. Enable Clock Hide. It will hide the default clock on the lockscreen as well as the status bar time and the date on your lockscreen.
Step 6
Again go to iPhone Settings and then tap over CleanStatus and enable CleanStatus. Once enabled you can now turn “on” Carrier Name and anything else you want to hide in your status bar.
Step 7
As you have already installed the Winterboard from Cydia. Using Winterboard you can choose your themes for your iOS device. Go to Select Themes. Select the theme we just set up.
Now you can respring your iPhone to get the new look by tapping over Respring from the Winterboard.
