Expect iPad prices to go beyond your reach in the coming months as the explosion at Foxconn factory is going to cut the production by nearly 2.8 million units. The accident at the Chinese manufacturing unit killed two employees and injured 16 others.
The Apple product which is directly going to get affected is the iPad, as the facility was involved in the production of the tablet computer. According to the latest analysis, the Chengdu plant opened only last year, will affect Apple plan to bring out next iPhone 5 adversely. The company is already suffering supply shortages due to Japanese Tsunami.
Both Foxconn and Apple have expressed their concern for the affected staffs and family members, saying:
We are deeply saddened by the tragedy at Foxconn’s plant in Chengdu, and our hearts go out to the victims and their families. We are working closely with Foxconn to understand what caused this terrible event.
The Plant is currently put on hold, and Foxconn has already initiated an inquiry to know the exact cause of the accident.
